Do not use 'cracked' software or dowload 'cracks from warez sites. The latter will almost certainly give you or your PC a severe dose of indegestion!
A great deal of nasty stuff is packaged with cracks, warez etc.
Do not allow people to install programs of thiers just so that you can try them
Do not install demo programs from magazine disks
Before you tryout anything ask yourself "do I really need this?"
If you are not going to use it - do not install it!
If you cannot afford the program of choice, look for the freeware alternative!
With the exception of an operating system (ie Windows) there are freeware alternatives for everything.
